Before the match against Argentina Safet Susic, head coach of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian national football team, showed up at the press conference with captain Emir Spahic and goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
Unlike the press conference of the Argentines, this time the hall lacked representatives of mass media. It is natural because there is a lot of attention to the South Americans and lots of journalists of this country have arrived in Brazil.
Susic thanked Sabella for his compliment and stated Argentina is a favorite not only of the group but the whole tournament. According to Susic, the Bosnians are ready to surprise the Argentines. He also stated it is a great honor for his country to participate in World Cup.
Susic noted he has a good team which is ready to play at Mundial. According to him, it is a great event that World Cup starts in Rio de Janeiro with the match of the Bosnians. He also stated they will play offensive football. According to Susic, the philosophy of the Bosnian team was achieved by such play. He also added if they cannot achieve success against Argentine, they will fight in the matches against Nigeria and Iran.
Emir Spahic noted each player on the field will fight till the end. He did not hide it was their dream to play at World Cup and it came true. Now they will try to fulfill another dream and to play successfully against Argentina. He also added football often surprises us. Spahic was asked where Messi plays better – in “Barcelona” or the Argentine national team. The Bosnian answered Messi is Messi everywhere.
Begovic praised Messi and the Argentine team. According to the goalkeeper, this team has top-level players. However, he added they are ready for every situation.
After the press conference I attended the practice of the Bosnians. The Bosnians who gathered at “Maracana” applauded their team. Some Bosnian journalists were sitting next to me. Suddenly, they stood up to take a picture with a man. As it turned out, famous coach Bora Milutinovic was attending the practice of the Bosnians. He works for one of the TV channels at Mundial. I greeted him and he agreed on taking picture with me. I asked Milutinovic to make a comment about the upcoming match but he delicately refrained.
