On June 15 World Cup match will be held in “Maracana” for the first time since 1950. “World Sport” and news agency worldsport.ge will witness this historical event with other representatives of mass media.
Besides FIFA World Cup accreditation, a special media ticket is required to attend every match. In the morning I went to reconstructed “Maracana” to get a ticket for Argentina-Bosnia match.
At the entrance you are checked by metal detectors. I got my ticket without any problem and besides this match, I will attend other three group matches at “Maracana”: Spain – Chile (June 18), Belgium – Russia (June 22) and France – Ecuador (June 25). I have to fill application form to get tickets for playoff matches.
“Maracana” is already crowded. There are a lot of Argentine fans. They are singing, playing drums. One of the Argentine girls asked steward for a ticket but all of them were sold out.
There is an elevator to go up to the press tribune from the media center. I looked around the press box. There are good conditions for working. Two-two journalists can sit at each table. Both of them have separate electricity and internet sources. Besides that, there are lamps and small screens on the tables. You can watch instant replays on these screens. The tables are separated from each other by glass. The match starts at 19:00 local time and like other journalists, I am waiting for it.
